Description

Nana – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (2025) accompanies the acclaimed short film by French director Katia Crivellari, a deeply human story set in the French countryside that explores family bonds, aging, illness, and the quiet intimacy of long-shared lives. Supported by the Bourgogne–Franche-Comté Region, SACEM, and Maison du Film, Nana received the Grand Prize at the Regional Competition of the Fenêtres sur Courts Festival (Dijon, 2024).

Composed by the Franco-Italian duo Parallel—Arielle Krebs and Francesco De Grazia—the score is presented here in an extended version. It unfolds as an intimate soundscape shaped by guitar, piano, cello, trumpet, and voice, creating a warm, introspective, and nostalgic atmosphere. Each instrument embodies emotional states and characters, gently tracing themes of memory, time, and unspoken love.

The music moves between tenderness and subtle unease, from the serene opening theme Gina et Armando, evoking the daily rhythm of an elderly couple, to moments where suspended harmonies reflect the intrusion of illness. Everyday sounds, such as a ticking kitchen clock, become musical symbols of passing time, while recurring motifs bind past and present. The emotional core of the soundtrack is Accanto a me, a nostalgic Italian love duet that gives voice to what remains unsaid—an intimate declaration of enduring love. Through restraint and sensitivity, Nana transforms the ordinary into something profoundly moving, illuminating the quiet strength of family and the poetry of everyday life.
