Sophie Raynaud
Sophie Raynaud, born in Lyon and trained at the CNSM in Paris, has performed on the greatest stages in solo, recital with singers and chamber music, in Europe, the USA and Japan.
Alongside Lise Davidsen, Samantha Hankey, Sophie Koch, Michael Volle, Okka von der Damerau and Elena Tsallagova among others, she has performed at London’s Wigmore Hall, the Edinburgh Festival and the Paris Opéra, Cologne Philharmonie, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Cuvilliés Theater Munich, Bavarian State Opera, Quirinale Rome, Teatro Zarzuela Madrid, Festival Castell de Peralada. Recently, she made her debut at New York’s Carnegie Hall and Tokyo’s Bunka Haikan Recital Hall.
Sophie Raynaud teaches at European institutions such as the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth in Brussels and the conservatories of Bern, Bremen and Munich.
As a coach, she has worked at some of Europe’s leading opera houses: Wiener Staasoper, Theater an der Wien, Salzburger Festspiele, Opernhaus Zurich, Théâtre du Châtelet, Teatro La Fenice and Bayerische Staatsoper.
Sophie Raynaud is often called upon as a vocal coach for Sony with Jonas Kaufmann or for Prima Classic with Marina Rebeka.
Two albums with mezzo-soprano Sophie Koch have been released on Le chant du monde label. Christa Ludwig’s masterclass at the Volkstheater in Vienna was filmed and released on DVD by Arthouse.
