Tineke Van Ingelgem & Aaron Wajnberg – Je ne t’aime pas

Soprano Tineke Van Ingelgem and pianist Aaron Wajnberg present Je ne t’aime pas, a captivating selection of songs that explore the complexities of love and emotional strength through the works of Kurt Weill, Francis Poulenc, and Benjamin Britten. These three composers, active in the first half of the 20th century, shared a deep connection with their librettists and were at the forefront of musical innovation.
From Kurt Weill’s revolutionary collaborations with Bertolt Brecht, including Barbarasong from Die Dreigroschenoper, to his evocative French and German song repertoire, the program highlights his versatility. The selection also features Es regnet, a rare piece with lyrics by Weill himself, inspired by Jean Cocteau.
Francis Poulenc, known for his close artistic relationship with Cocteau, is represented through his miniature one-woman opera La dame de Monte-Carlo, capturing the emotional depths of his French avant-garde sensibility.
With expressive storytelling and musical brilliance, Je ne t’aime pas offers a deeply moving exploration of the human heart through some of the most poignant compositions of the 20th century.
